ABIGAILS BESPOKE BRIDAL LOOK
Emily Colley
Abigail's Bridal gown and bespoke Capelet
A summers dream
The beautiful bride Abigail, came to me with a request for a bespoke bridal look for her summer wedding, which reflected minimalism, with a vintage twist.
After a process of creating inspiration and mood boards, I presented the bride with an array of design ideas and sketches that reflected a beautiful, elegant and classic look which would suit her gorgeous slender frame!
I presented the bride with a package of beautiful lace, embrodiery and silk samples which were esquisite in quality and available in an array of ivory shades. The dress was a simplisitc, minimalistc floor length gown cut on the bias to showcase the optimum classic refined look. A row of gorgeous silk covered buttons peaked through a draping, scooped cowl back design.
I have a beautiful studio where I create, design and become inspired...take a look!
The final look was decided – a beautiful vintage stage capelet reminicent of the 1920’s. The bride was over the moon… I created a pattern and toile and fitted this in pur studio on the bride to ensure the fit was perfection.
Take a look at the final photos below, where I was fortunate enough to pop in and ensure the bride looked beautiful! – the capelet is constructed using a lightweight, ultra luxurious silk tuelle, french scallop lace trim featuring delicate swarovski and fresh water pearl beads. A heavenly silk satin trim features around the neckline, securing elegant pleats which hang against the shoulder and deocllatage, finished with a hand covered silk button.
A beautiful inherited diamond necklace was the centre piece of the whole look, so the sheer capelet let this shine through and sparkle on the day!
